Belize City Police investigating shooting incident at Faber’s Road Extension

By BBN Staff:Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred last night on Faber’s Road Extension in Belize City.

Dennis Hislop told police that around 6:25 pm, he and Kyron Samuels,21, were on the verandah of his home when they saw two men on separate bicycles.

One of the men stopped in front of his home and began approaching them. A struggle then ensued between Hislop and the culprit who had a firearm.

At the time, Dennis Hislop Sr. was inside his home and hearing the noise of the commotion, he went outside to find out what was happening. Hislop Sr. then fired a shot from his licensed 9mm pistol at the man who was struggling with his son. 

The man then ran out of the yard towards Faber’s Road Extension and turned around and fired several shots at the Hislop’s residence.

Police made checks at the K.H.M.H. and found the culprit, Frank Smith, 34, with apparent gunshot wounds to the right side of the neck and right side of the cheek. 

He was admitted in a critical condition. 

Police recovered (3) 9 mm expended shells from the scene and their investigations continue.
