By BBN Staff: Today Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, provided an update on some human remains found over the weekend. He explained that on Saturday the family of missing person, Anisha Young, was conducting searches for her in Burrel Boom, Belize.
That was when they received information of an unusual smell coming out of a yard in Maskall Village. The family proceeded to the swampy area, a mile off the Philip Goldson Highway.
There they found a shallow grave with remains. The scene was processed and the items found were collected. On Sunday morning a pathologist confirmed the items were human remains.
However, police could not determine if they are the remains of Young. According to Cowo, samples are held as exhibition and a further determination will be made after tests are conducted. Cowo also told the press that Young’s boyfriend remains the main suspect in her disappearance.
Yet before he could face any charges the evidence against him must be collected asserted Cowo. Young has been missing since December 9th. She had gone home with her boyfriend after a night of partying but he told police when he woke up at midday the next day she was gone.
