Officers accused of brutality placed on suspension

y BBN Staff: The two police officers accused of using excessive force in San Pedro, and which was caught on camera, were placed on suspension today. 

PC No. 1919, Samir Medina and PC No.2287, Tyrell Rowley were each placed on seven days suspension pending both criminal and internal investigations by police. 

A video went viral last night on social media depicting the two officers and a civilian beating down on two individuals. 

Belizeans took to social media to express their concern over the excessive use of force by the officers. 

As investigations continue, the Human Rights Commission, Mayor Bernard Wagner, the NGO community, the Police Department and numerous Belizeans have condemned the actions of the officers.
