By BBN Staff: Out west, police stumbled on an apparent case of human smuggling.
Sometime around 8 p.m. on Friday night, San Ignacio Police were on a mobile patrol in Santa Elena Town.
That was when they observed a heavily tinted Ford Expedition.
They quickly stopped the vehicle which was at the time driven by Benque Viejo resident, Fernando Moh, 58.
During that time, police observed fourteen Honduran nationals packed inside the vehicle – there were two women, three men, and nine minors.
The minors have since been held in protective care by the Human Development Department while the driver and the adults remain detained by police pending investigations.
