Mayor Bernard Wagner: Pier One must relocate

BBN Staff: Last month Asher Saunders was gunned down inside the Pier One Night Club in Belize City.

Following his death, many Belizeans called for the club to discontinue its operations.

Belize City Mayor, Bernard Wagner, had indicated that the business could not continue business as per normal.

Yesterday during an interview with the press Mayor Wagner indicated that the business would have to relocate.

According to him, the venue could be used as a child-friendly space for ice cream and pizza given that it is right inside the BTL park.

Mayor Wagner believes that the children of Belize City would enjoy the waterfront.

When asked how he would be able to put pressure on the principals of Pier One he indicated that the company’s liquor and trade licenses are up for renewal.
