Fire in Conch Shell Bay, arsonist caught

By BBN Staff: A house was set ablaze in Belize City minutes ago.

The house has been identified as a bungalow in the heart of Conch Shell Bay which belongs to the Wade family.

Police and fire officials arrived on the scene immediately.

Fortunately, the fire has been brought under control and the suspected arsonist was nabbed by police.

He attempted to escape on foot via Vernon Street but police and members of the community pursued him.

Arson is considered a major crime with punishment of up to 12 years in prison.
