BBN Staff: Today, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) held a ceremony for the signing of the Licensing Agreement between the Embassy and RSV Media Center for the debut of the Taiwan Television drama series titled “The New World”.

The series will air weekly to the Belizean public on Love Television, starting Sunday, February 3, at 3:00 p.m.

This is the first Taiwanese television series to be broadcasted in Belize to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belize and the Republic of China (Taiwan).

“The New World” consists of 24 episodes and was filmed in various locations in Taiwan, allowing viewers to see the beautiful landscape in Taiwan.

The drama includes elements of friendship, romance and suspense, featuring current social issues and the protection of the environment.

The story begins with 4 childhood friends, Kitty, Dragonfly, Cricket and Clovy, who split up after a tragic car accident.

Twenty years later, Kitty, who has become a journalist, publishes a photograph in a local newspaper hoping to find her old friends again.

However, her search drags her into a mysterious case, and accidentally uncovers a huge secret that spans over 5 decades and endangers everyone involved.

This Taiwanese series has been nominated for 4 Golden Bell Awards in Taiwan.

Through the airing of the television series, the Embassy encourages friends in Belize to get a closer look at the culture of Taiwan and the talents of the cast in this great TV drama series despite the distance between our two countries.
