Shawn Hemmans killed during Superbowl halftime show

BBN Staff:Last night a fatal shooting was reported in Belize City.

The victim has been identified as Shawn Hemmans, 33.

Sometime around 7 p.m., he was at a yard on St. Thomas Street.

He was reportedly tuned in to the Superbowl showdown.

However, at half time he went on the verandah to have a beer. That was when someone visited the residence and called out his name.

When he answered, he was shot multiple times.

He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.

Police say this residence has been raided multiple times for drugs as it is frequented by some shady characters.

Yet police could not confirm if Hemmans was the target as he is not known to police.
