Belize named among best adventure destinations

BBN Staff: Belize has been named among the world’s best sport and adventure destinations by TripAdvisor. According to the world renowned travel site, ‘adrenaline experiences’ are on the rise, trending up nearly 20% year-on-year as more travelers search for more exciting and daring experiences.

TripAdvisor says globally there’s been a 170% increase in bookings for activities such as bungee jumping, an 81% increase for skydiving, and 67% increase for caving. Belize was included on the list of the world’s top 10 destinations for exciting adventure tours including zip-lining, cave tubing and snorkeling.

TripAdvisor said Belize is a great destination for adventure tourism because with plenty of outdoor activities, there are enough thrills to get adventure seekers out of their comfort zones. The article said travelers can experience two of Belize’s most popular activities in the same day including a zip-lining tour through the jungle on a seven-cable zip-line and cave tubing tour through an underground cave system through the heart of the Maya Mountains.

TripAdvisor also highlighted Belize’s famed Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Mexico Rocks Park patch reef as great destinations for snorkeling and exploring the pristine and vibrant coral reefs Belize is known for. Other destinations on the list included Costa Rica, Mexico, Hawaii, New Zealand, Colorado, New Zealand, Canada, Alaska and the United Arab Emirates.
