By BBN Staff: Two businesses in Belize City were burglarized on the same day, leaving the residents of the old capital to wonder if there will be a spike in theft-related crimes.
Burglars broke into both Tacos al Pastor and Williams Supermarket, both located on Central American Boulevard, on Sunday. The burglars managed to get away with assorted tools, including a chainsaw, and cash to a total value of $2,845 from Tacos al Pastor. Authorities believe that they entered the building through a back door.
Those that broke into Willaims Supermarket got away with grocery items and an assortment of liquor along with $3,000 in cash. The burglars got in by cutting the burglar bars at the back of the building.
Police are investigating.
