By BBN Staff: Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Patrick Faber handed over a license certificate for Monsignor Romero Roman Catholic Preschool in Valley of Peace, Cayo District.

The preschool, which is an extension of Monsignor Romero Primary School, has an enrollment of over 30 students and has been operating on a provisional basis since it opened its doors in September of 2017.

The lack of a full and proper license had been causing financial problems for the operation of the preschool, including salary payments for its head teacher.

Receiving the license certificate from Faber was Acting Principal of Monsignor Romero RC School, Judith Melgar, accompanied by the Preschool Head Teacher, Janeth Dueñas.

The principal thanked Faber and the Ministry of Education for addressing the matter.

Faber congratulated them for their dedicated service and sacrifice for the education of the children in their community.

The Principal and Preschool Head Teacher first met with Faber two weeks ago to discuss the matter and other education matters affecting the institution.

The Ministry of Education says that they remain committed to the development of all children in Belize and continue to make gainful efforts in providing access to quality education for everyone.
