By BBN Staff:  Police officer, Darrel Usher, who previously exposed the conditions of the Queen Street police station holding cell, made surprising allegations again via social media this morning claiming that a senior police officer attacked a junior officer while on duty.

According to Usher, it happened sometime last night at a police checkpoint in Belize City. The senior cop reportedly visited the junior cop and asked him a question. When the junior cop responded that was when the senior cop allegedly pounced on him. He was reportedly choked and then body slammed. During that time he reportedly received a cut wound to his head.

He was thereafter transported to a police detention facility but was then directed to the hospital where he completed a medico legal form. According to Usher, the abused cop is considering court action.

“A police on duty has been assaulted by a ranking officer for just answering  back when he was asked a question,” said Usher. “Due to rank I guess it will be pushed under the carpet.”

Our newsroom contacted Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, for a comment on this incident but he said, “I am not going to confirm or comment on that right now.”
