Shopking in Belize City robbed at gunpoint

BBN Staff: Police are investigating a robbery that occurred yesterday morning at Shopking Shopping Center in Belize City.

Manager of Shopking, Yuhuan Yang,29, reported to authorities that around 11:15 am, he was inside his establishment when two men entered.

One of the men took out a firearm and demanded that everybody get on the ground, while the other proceeded behind the counter.

The robbers took $800 cash in different denomination and relieved Yang of his licensed .9mm pistol valued at $3,000.

A customer who was inside the shopping center was also robbed of her purse, Social Security card, phone, and cash.

Both men then escaped.

Police investigation continues.
