BBN Staff: Pirates robbed six Corozal fishermen at gunpoint this week while they were out on a fishing trip.
Copper Bank Village resident Lloyd Flores, 37, reported to police that the incident happened on Thursday, around 1:30 p.m. when he and five others were aboard his sailboat ‘Seleny.’ Flores said that they were about a mile from Belize City when a white vessel with two occupants approached them.
One of the occupants who was armed with a handgun boarded Flores’ his vessel and robbed them of their fisheries products totaling $3,020.00.
No one was reported to have been injured in the incident. Police say that the matter is under investigation.
