By BBN Staff: The United States Embassy in Belize in partnership with Marie Sharp yesterday launched a new, ‘Pure Love’ Pineapple Habanero Pepper Sauce.
Proceeds from the sale of the new product will directly benefit victims of gender-based violence in Belize.
Special Envoy for Women and Children, Kim Simplis Barrow via a statement congratulated the US Embassy in Belize and Marie Sharp for the initiative.
“This hot sauce is much more than just a bottle with a mixture we love. This bottle represents an entirely new approach with a completely dynamic angle. I HOPE it will fuel us to understand the magnitude of gender-based violence and how much of an impact it has on the ENTIRE society. This sauce signifies a communal support to survivors, to those still being directly affected, and to those whose lives were taken,” Simplis said.
Simplis further stated that the ‘Pure Love Pineapple Habanero Sauce’ provides a much-needed visibility to gender-based violence.
“Thank you to Natella Svistunova, Public Officer at the US Embassy, whose vision and drive brought us to this point. This initiative will no doubt be a great influencer for change,” Simplis declared.
Marie Sharp has been a steadfast supporter of women empowerment and ending gender-based violence in Belize.
