By BBN Staff:  Over the weekend, private content of Indira Craig, news anchor of Channel 7 was shared on social media.

Activists for women’s rights expressed their discontent with the sharing of private photos and videos of Craig.

Today, Tropical Vision Channel 7 issued a statement denouncing the sharing of private video content involving their news anchor.

“Everyone, public figures included, is entitled to privacy. The video was circulated in violation of that and it was done to demean, humiliate and injure. This is an act of abuse,” the statement said.

Furthermore, it describes the incident as part of a wider pattern of public shaming of women and girls through social media and messaging services.

This must end and the end starts with you, the statement said.

“We join others in saying, if you receive content that violates someone else’s privacy, delete it,” Channel 7 said.

The media house says that it continues to stand with and support Craig.
