By BBN Staff: Earlier today, we reported on the challenge that the fire department had gaining entry to a house in Santa Elena that was on fire on February 23, 2019.
For many years, residents had been clamoring to authorities to demolish the structure in fears of what could happen in case of an emergency, which is exactly what occurred on Saturday.
A neighbor was even detained by authorities yesterday when he took matter into his own hands and began breaking down the structure.
BBN can confirm that shortly before noon today, the structure was completely demolished.
The residents thank the authorities for the swift action taken.
