By BBN Staff: In the wake of the double murder of Kevin Moro and Oscar Humes, a candle light vigil is being held this weekend.
According to Nicole Moro, a sister of Kevin Moro, the vigil is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Central Park. She said the vigil is not only for them but for “Everybody who lost any loved one.”
“I’m calling on business owners, government workers, locals and everybody, young and old, from near and far, to be apart of this vigil,” she wrote as she called to put an end to crime and murder in Punta Gorda. Moro and Humes were both gunned down last night near St. Peter Claver’s Church.
Information to BBN is that neither deceased men were the intended target. These latest murders have rocked the rather peaceful nature that Punta Gorda is known for.
