Taiwan and Governor General congratulate Scout Association of Belize for new Headquarters project

Staff: The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) announced today that in collaboration with Colville Young, Governor-General of Belize, it is providing financial assistance to the Scout Association of Belize for the project of building their new Headquarters.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the new building, which will be named after the Governor-General, took place earlier today at the Scout lot on Albert Street, Belize City and H.E. Ambassador Remus Li-Kuo Chen was also invited as VIP guest to witness the significant moment.

The new hub will be home to more than 1,000 active scouts and adult volunteers, who are a part of the Scout Association of Belize. The surrounding community, once the construction of the building is completed, will also benefit from this meaningful project. Neighboring residents will have immediate access to the computer lab and facilities on the ground floor of the building.

Other organizations such as the Girl Guides Association and other youth groups will also have access to the meeting room for weekly or monthly gatherings. Visiting Scouts from abroad will also be able to utilize the guest rooms. At any time approximately 300 users can also enjoy their time spent in the building.

The overall goal of the Scout Association of Belize is for the total human development (physical, mental, social, and spiritual) of young boys and girls so that they may find a constructive place in society. The Scouts contribute to creating a better world. Their general method of achieving this is by providing an educational, enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training based on the Scout Promise and Law.

The Embassy says that it is pleased to be a part of this initiative to contribute to the Scout Association of Belize, which will benefit so many individuals and the youth of Belize.
