Taxi driver stabbed in Benque Viejo, Cayo

By BBN Staff: On Friday there was a stabbing incident reported in Benque Viejo, Cayo.

Walter Lopez, 37, visited the police station and told police that on February 17th he was on taxi duty in the town. While approaching the terminal he picked up a male passenger. Upon taking him to his desired location two other men entered the vehicle. The men then stabbed him multiple times and relieved him of his money. He then drove across the border to receive medical attention.

Upon his return to Belize, he filed an official police report.
