UWG extends condolences on passing of sister of George Price, Meg Craig

Staff: The United Women’s Group (UWG), the women’s arm of the PUP extends their profound sadness and deepest condolences to the family of Alice Margaret Craig better known as Meg Craig.

Meg is a founding director of the Belize Audubon Society (BAS) and sister to the Father of the Nation. She passed away this morning.

Meg dedicated her time and energy serving on the BAS Board of Directors in many positions including Vice President.

She was also a member of the Cockscomb and Education Committees.

Miss Meg dedicated herself to Belize’s environment, natural history and culture. Her work will also always be remembered as she greatly assisted the Belize Advisory Board to create the unique Belizean stamps.

Miss Meg worked with her brother George and sister Jane in the movements towards Independence and in her early years was an active member of the People’s United Party.

The significant contribution to Belize by this trailblazer is recognized across all sectors of the Belizean society.
