Attorney General condemns Vibes Media for Vital Statistics video

Posted: Thursday, February 28, 2019. 1:39 pm CST.

BBN Staff: The Attorney General’s Ministry today issued a statement condemning Vibes Media for sharing a video of the Vital Statistics Office in Belize City.

The Ministry says that the video was shared in an attempt to diminish the valiant efforts of the Government of Belize to improve the service and work done at the Vital Statistics Unit and to ‘mislead the people of Belize’.

“The Government wishes to inform the people of Belize that the video shared on Vibes Media on February 27, 2019 existed prior to steps being taken by the Government to improve the quality of work of the Unit by placing the Unit under the control and governance of the Attorney General’s Ministry,” the statement says.

The Government informs that it has taken the necessary corrective actions to terminate those involved in such misconduct.

The statement further says that the actions of the PUP to distract the people of Belize from the commitment of the Government to drastically improve the work and services at the Vital Statistic Unit will not be tolerated.

The Government of Belize also warns the people of Belize against these types of propaganda.
