Junior Buddy celebrates 12th Birthday at The Belize Zoo

Over 60 children from Our Lady of Guadalupe School in Corozal brought magic to the event.   

Before ‘Junior’ received his “birthday bone”, children enjoyed face painting, games and Jaguar party hats at the Belize Zoo.

‘Pin the tail on the Jaguar’ was a big hit and then the kids entered the zoo to meet the “birthday boy” himself.   

‘Junior’ seemed to know something special was going to take place. He watched everyone with a keen interest and then settled down a bit as Zoo Director Sharon came forward with her guitar.  

Junior Buddy did not disappoint his fans. 

  When his birthday bone came sailing over the enclosure which ‘Junior’ calls home, it was quickly snatched and taken to his favorite “snack spot”.  

 In full view of everyone, ‘Junior Buddy’ ate that birthday bone with zest.  

 The children took in great views of all of the Jaguars and other animals including the tapir, Scarlet Macaws, and our beautiful keel-billed toucan. 

  The birthday party also included a Bouncy house. 

Lots of wildlife appreciation happened at Junior Buddy’s 12th birthday and underscored what the zoo stands for:  Respect and admiration aimed at the animals who call Belize their home.
