By BBN Staff: Earlier today, a team from the Reconstruction and Development Corporation (RECONDEV) in Belmopan demolished the home of a woman who was reportedly squatting on private property.

Breaking Belize News (BBN)confirmed that a committee from RECONDEV approved the demolition, however, the corporation has not issued an official statement on the matter.

The demolition happened in the Salva Pan area of Belmopan. BBN confirmed that the woman has lived on the property for over two years and that she had been notified that the property was privately owned. Sources tell BBN that she received a letter informing her that she needed to relocate as recent as two months ago.

Amateur video footage being circulated on social media, shows the team dismantling a wooden structure, but there was also an apparently recently -constructed concrete floor and numerous cement blocks on the property.
