Compol congratulates officers for swift response to robbery in Corozal

BBN Staff: Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, issued a statement congratulating the Belize Police Department, for their continuous efforts in ensuring the safety of our citizenry.

“A special salute to those who were involved in the apprehension of the six border robbers, despite being shot at with high powered rifles these officers did not retreat, they were courageous and determined to ensure the suspects were apprehended,” Williams stated.

Williams reaffirms the department’s commitment to continue working with Belizeans to ensure safety throughout the length and breadth of Belize.

Five armed masked men robbed 7 money changers at the Northern border yesterday. The entire ordeal was captured on a surveillance camera.

Authorities in the immediate area responded swiftly and managed to detain the 5 suspects and recover cash, and guns.

The men are expected to be charged today.
