Family of George Price (GP) requests removal of ICJ billboards with photos of GP

By BBN Staff: With only 36 days to decision day 2019, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Referendum Unit has ramped up its campaign on whether Belizeans should vote yes or no on taking the territorial dispute with Guatemala to the ICJ.

Several billboards have been erected countrywide including pictures of Belize’s national hero and Father of the Nation, George Cadle Price on the ICJ campaign.

BBN can confirm that the family of Price has written a letter to the Government of Belize expressing their disapproval of the use of his pictures and quotations for the ICJ referendum campaign.

The family has obtained the legal services of attorney Richard Dickie Bradley.

According to reports, the family lawyer has contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to request that the billboards be taken down.
