Matthews, appearing this morning before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, insisted that while he does own a pocket knife which he always carries around, he did not pull it out against his sister Michelle while they were arguing.
According to Matthews, he was trying to discipline his ten-year-old child who resides with Michelle and they got into an argument.
Magistrate Ford entered an equivocal plea of not guilty and offered him bail in the sum of $1,000 plus one surety of the same which he was able to meet. He returns to court in May.
Matthews, a George Street resident, had in the past been involved in criminal activity but he has been trying to keep on the straight and narrow since.
