Two women brought to court for allegedly brawling

Posted: Tuesday, March 5, 2019. 11:47 am CST.

p;Aaron Humes: Sisters Zeta Anthony, 38, and Ojuma Anthony, 23, are out on bail following an apparent brawl that started on the corner of Kut and Euphrates Avenues and ended inside the Precinct One Police Station.

Charged separately with ‘harm’ and ‘common assault’ respectively on 26-year-old Savas Williams, whom they say has been “constantly interfering” with one of them; the sisters appeared unrepresented before Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts-Anderson. An additional charge of
disorderly conduct against both women was withdrawn.

Complicating matters is that Ojuma Anthony is six months pregnant, which prompted the Magistrate to ask if it was wise to be fighting in her condition. She insisted that she was not guilty of her charge.

The prosecutor asked for a lengthy trial date due to Ojuma’s pregnancy and disclosure was set for May third, 2019. Ojuma was released on bail of $800 while Zeta met bail of $500.
