By BBN Staff: Career school teacher Wayne Casimiro, known for his outstanding contribution to physical education and sports in Belize, has been awarded a scholarship to attend a coach’s training course in Budapest, Hungary, later this month.
Casimiro received the scholarship from the International Olympic Committee – Olympic Solidarity Funds, to attend the course which will last four months. The scholarship includes examinations, accommodation, meals, medical services, and internal transportation. The Football Federation of Belize is also assisting by covering his transportation cost to and from Hungary.
During the course, Casimiro will receive training in his chosen discipline, football, along with training in areas such as Anatomy, Physiology, Sport Psychology, Sport Pedagogy, Sport Sociology, Sport Management, Sport Administration, Sport and Research and Sport Practice. The course consists of 120 theoretical and 180 practical teaching hours. The course is geared towards building capacity for coaches through both theory and practical aspects of training.
