Guatemalan civilians open fire at BDF soldiers at Cadenas

BBN Staff: Minister of National Security, John Saldivar is conducting a tour of Belize’s borders with Guatemala.

Last week, he visited Cadenas and Sarstoon in Southern Belize.

Saldivar informed that a few days before his visit at Cadenas, members of the Belize Defense Force (BDF) were destroying some plantations in the area and Guatemalan civilians opened fire at BDF soldiers.

Saldivar said that the soldiers are posted at Cadenas to conduct daily patrols and to destroy plantations that they may come across.
