Police: 62-year-old killed in Tower Hill traffic accident

BBN Staff: Authorities are investigating a road traffic accident that claimed the life of an elderly man.

Last night around 7:35, police responded to the accident between Miles 50 and 51 on the Northern Highway.

There, they saw the body of Excequiel Lopez Leon, 62, a Guatemalan national of Tower Hill Village, Orange Walk District.

Investigations revealed that Shaun Dortch,34, of San Pedro Town was driving his Mazda SUV traveling from the direction of Orange Walk to Belize City when he knocked down Leon who was riding his bicycle.

The body was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital morgue where it awaits a post mortem examination.

 Police are investigating.
