Cyclist dies in fatal traffic accident on George Price Highway

BBN Staff: Belize City resident, John Bennett, is dead after a road traffic accident over the weekend.

Police say that sometime around 5:30 p.m. he was on his motorcycle heading to Belize City.

While approaching mile 6 on the George Price highway he attempted to overtake a vehicle.

That was when another vehicle coming from the opposite direction collided into him.

He suffered severe bodily injuries and died on the scene.

The driver of that vehicle has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
