Two dead in Punta Gorda, one from murder and one from fatal traffic accident

BBN Staff: Punta Gorda police are at this time investigating two deaths in that municipality.

BBN understands that Luis Cabrera Jr. was socializing at a bar in Punta Gorda earlier this evening when he was attacked by two men. One of the men allegedly stabbed him to the throat with a broken bottle and Cabrera Jr. died from the injury he received.

After the incident, the attackers fled the scene on a motorcycle.

However, while speeding away from the scene, the motorcycle crashed. One of the attackers died on the spot while the other was hospitalized and is in a critical condition.

Authorities are investigating.
