Police testify in Mason trial

By BBN Staff: As the murder trial of William “Danny” Mason and his associates carries on, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) called on the officers that arrested Mason the night the head of pastor Llewellyn Lucas was found in the back of his pickup truck.

The DPP Cheryl Lynn Vidal called Corporal Ryan Martinez who testified that he was instructed on July 15th, 2016, to go to Sancho’s Bar in the Industrial SiteArea of Belmopan.

Corporal Martinez along with other members of the Quick Response Team said that they met Mason and the four other accused: Terrence Fernandez, Ashton Vanegas, Keiron Fernandez, and Ernest Castillo and searched them.

Martinez went on to say that they did not find anything illegal on them but searched Mason’s vehicle where they found Lucas’ head wrapped in a black plastic bag inside a bucket in the pan of the
pickup truck.

Six witnesses have testified thus far. The trial continues today where the attorney for the accused Herbert Panton will cross-examine Corporal Martinez.
