Police find large stash of cocaine in San Pedro

BBN Staff: San Pedro police found a large stash of cocaine, weighing over 20 kilos, on the
island earlier today.

Police say that a detail of police officers from San Pedro, assisted by members of the Gang
Suppression Unit (GSU), went to an area 2 miles north of Boca Del
Rio Park where they found a white crocus sack on the beach with 20 packages of suspected cocaine inside.

They weighed the packages and found that 19 packages weighed 1200 grams each and 1 package weighed 1050 grams. The weight of the 20 packages totaled 23,850 grams which is just under 24
kilos.

No one was in the immediate area so the suspected cocaine was
labeled and deposited as found property.
