By BBN Staff: Belize is closely monitoring the dengue cases in Belize. Currently, there isn’t an outbreak, however, the Ministry of Health remains alert since the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and other agencies are on alert for an active 2019.

In an interview with Love FM, Kim Bautista of the Vector Control Unit said that due to a forecast of an active dengue season, an advisory was received outlining specific things that need to be done in terms of preparation.

Bautista urges all Belizeans to take the necessary precautions.

The Ministry of Health will continue to monitor and report if there is an increase in cases of Dengue in Belize.
