Interesting developments in Danny Mason’s case

Posted: Thursday, March 21, 2019. 6:27 pm CST.

BBN Staff: This morning, before Supreme Court Justice Antoinette Moore, each of the five defendants were questioned based on matters heard in chambers among the attorneys on the case – Herbert Panton and Rachel Montejo-Juan, representing the defendants and Director of Public Prosecutions, Cheryl-Lynn Vidal.

BBN understands that this has led Justice Moore to request submissions from each attorney to be heard on Friday as it was uncertain whether Panton and Montejo would continue to represent Mason and the rest of the accused team.

If there is a change in who is to represent Mason and the other accused this would cause a significant delay in the conduct of this high profile trial.

No one is prepared to comment officially but despite the reportedly rocky relations, Panton and Montejo-Juan are for now still representing William “Danny” Mason, brothers Terrence and Keiron Fernandez, Ernest Castillo and Ashton Vanegas.

The five are accused of murdering by decapitation Pastor Llewelyn Lucas in June of 2016. Testimony was held in full starting on Monday and the trial is expected to continue for another week or so depending on Friday’s submissions.

BBN will have more on this story as it develops.
