McAfee found liable for wrongful death in US courts, refuses to pay

Posted: Thursday, March 21, 2019. 9:20 am CST.

BBN Staff: The estate of the late Gregory Faull, successfully sued John McAfee in United States court and was awarded US $25 million; however, Mcafee says he has no intentions of paying the money.

McAfee released a statement saying that he has no assets to pay so he won’t be paying this latest judgment or any of the other outstanding judgments against him.

“I have not responded to a single one of my 37 lawsuits in the past 11 years,” Mcafee posted on his Twitter account.

McAfee went on to say that during that period, there have been judgments piled up against him valuing over US $200 million, all of which remains unpaid because he has no assets. He added that he never responded to the Faull lawsuit and that the judgment was in default.

“I was never suspected of murder by the Belizean authorities or any other authority. I was never charged with murder by the Belizean authorities or any other authority. It was a suit based entirely on media reporting,” McAfee said.

In 2012, the Belize Police Department said that Mcafee was a person of interest in the investigation after Faull, his next-door neighbor, was found dead in his home with an apparent gunshot wound.

McAfee fled the country and returned to the US during the investigation. Since then he has run for President of the United States and has also been the subject of a controversial documentary about his time in Belize and his suspected involvement in Faull’s death.
