By Aaron Humes: Reports to Breaking Belize News are that a settlement in the high five-figures, close to six, is being mediated between former City Administrator Candice Miller and the Belize City Council.
Yesterday afternoon a mediation session was hosted by Chief Justice Kenneth Benjamin.
The proceedings are covered by a court confidentiality agreement between both sides preventing them from public comment.
Miller, appointed in the waning days of the Zenaida Moya administration and kept on by successor Darrell Bradley, was suspended not long after Wagner and his councilors took office a year ago. There were serious concerns from the incoming mayor about the fulfillment of Miller’s fiduciary duties in the Bradley administration. Two months later she was terminated along with five other employees of the Council and shortly after that filed suit in the Supreme Court.
