Game Day, Belize stands behind the Jaguars

Posted: Saturday, March 23, 2019. 11:31 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Belizeans at home and abroad are coming together to wish the national football team the Jaguars, good luck in their match against Guyana’s
Golden Jaguars today.

The game carries high stakes as both need the victory if they are to qualify to participate in the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup. Guyana’s head coach has stated publicly that his team has been training vigorously because beating Belize would secure their first Gold Cup appearance.

Senior Vice President of the Football Federation of Belize, Marlon Kuylen told Breaking Belize that our team needs to win by more than one goal to increase chances of qualifying, which adds an extra layer of pressure on the players. Members of the sports community spoke to BBN this morning, sending messages of support to the team.

“Best of luck to the team ….the entire nation is behind them!! goal cup is on our mind!” said Ian Jones, director of the National Sports Council.

“We are rooting for them and that they have our support. we will tune in,” said certified sports trainer Dwight Cadle.

BBN joins all Belizeans in offering support and wishing the team well.

Go Jaguars!
