Police comments on Corozal road traffic accident

BBN Staff: On Tuesday at around 10 a.m. Corozal police responded to a report of a road traffic accident near mile 86 on the Philip Goldson Highway.

There, they observed a passenger bus and besides it a motorcycle which had been extensively damaged.

The driver of the bus, Peter Mendoza, reported that he was traveling to Corozal Town.

However, when he attempted to overtake the motorcycle, the driver swerved on to the highway.

The motorcyclist was learned to be Jose Cortez, 45.

He is currently listed in a stable condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

The bus driver has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
