By BBN Staff:Police in San Pedro Town are investigating a case of aggravated burglary.

Sometime after midnight on Tuesday morning police visited Sapphire Beach Resort.

Upon arrival, officers conducted an inspection of the premises during which they found the security guard handcuffed and injured.

Upon making further checks, police observed two Canadian nationals with minor injuries.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the security guard was on duty when he was approached by three men and a woman wearing masks and dressed in dark clothing.

They were carrying a firearm and a large knife.

They quickly subdued the guard and thereafter burglarized the restaurant before targetting the Canadians.

The culprits were able to loot a small amount of cash before escaping on a golf cart and motorcycle belonging to the Canadians.

Both vehicles were later recovered.

However, the perpetrators remain at large.
