BREAKING: Wanted Argentinian businessman detained in Belize

By BBN Staff: Information to Breaking Belize News is that Alberto Samid “Rey de la Carne”, the Argentinian entrepreneur that is wanted in his country for tax evasion, has been detained in Belize.

Authorities detained Samid in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye this evening after receiving reports that he was wanted by Interpol.

Earlier today, INTERPOL issued a red alert for Samid and listed Belize as the possible destination he was hiding at. Several photos were also circulating on Argentinian media outlets showing Samid boarding a plane destined for Belize City.

The 71-year-old businessman, who is the owner of several livestock and meat shops and a political affiliate of the Justicialist Party is being accused of evading a significant amount of taxes for his firms.
