Father to be tried for incest of daughter, 13

By Aaron Humes: A 46-year-old father of Southside Belize City will stand trial at the next practical session of the Supreme Court, set to commence on June 18, 2019, for incest of his 13-year–old daughter.

It is alleged that the father had sex with his daughter sometime in the month of December, 2017.

At a Preliminary Inquiry before Senior Magistrate, Aretha Ford, the accused told the magistrate that, he was under the influence at the time and that his mind frame was not clear.

Prosecutor, Sergeant Macedonio Sanchez, presented 13 statements from witnesses and 9 different documentary exhibits including 9 pictures, a warrant in the arrest of the father, and a birth certificate for his daughter to prove her age at the time of the sexual encounter which showed she was a minor at the time.

The father was offered bail in the sum of $5,000 plus one surety of the same amount.///
