By BBN Staff: Former anti-virus software developer John Mcafee, says that he is not going to pay the $25 million that the courts in the United States ordered him to pay for the wrongful death of his neighbor in Belize.

In March, a district court in Florida found Mcafee liable for the death of his former neighbor Gregory Faull, which happened back in 2012. In response to the ruling, Mcafee said that he has over US$200 million in pending lawsuits and he doesn’t intend to pay them or this new ruling.

“I was never charged with murder by Belizean authorities or any other authority. It was a suit based entirely on media reporting,” Mcafee said.

After authorities found Faull dead in his home in November 2012, McAfee fled the country, having been named by the Belize Police Department as a person of interest in the investigation.
