Posted: Saturday, April 6, 2019. 11:38 am CST.

/strong> BBN Staff: Belize’s name continues to ring bells internationally, with new travel writing articles featuring the country popping up every week. The latest, a piece published on USA Today’s Website entitled “Surprising trips to put on your bucket list,” focuses on the country’s Maya heritage.

The piece encourages tourists to visit the deep in the Actun Tunichil Muknal cave, or ATM, to visit the site of Maya human sacrifice rituals. Belize is featured as one of 10 destinations, along side Spain, Sweden, Chile, Nicaragua, The Bahamas and Mococco, just to name a few.

The piece adds increased exposure to the US tourism market, which already represents the largest number of visitors traveling to Belize annually.  The piece is published at a time when marketing efforts are underway in other countries such as Canada and Mexico, which helps to maximize the country’s exposure as a premium choice destination in the region.
