46 year old Jason Wade of Ladyville pleaded not guilty to a charge of burglary before Magistrate Christine Perrera for the incident on April 5 at the residence of Nasheera James on Egbert Quilter Avenue.
Wade, who has a past criminal history and owes court fines of $610, was willing to serve a stint behind bars and is not able to meet the bail of $7,000 set by the court.
James said she had left her home that morning fully secured, but when she got home that night she noticed the lock on the door of the storeroom that leads to a bathroom she shares with Wade was broken. She said Wade did not have permission to use the storeroom.
Police later arrested and charged Jason Wade with burglary. He is due back in court on June 10.
