Broken main water line cuts off water in Mahogany Heights

By BBN Staff: Residents of Mahogany Heights village are without water tonight because the main distribution line is broken. The PVC pipes and connections which were used in Mohogany Heights are of British/European origin and these are not sold in Belize. As a result it is extremely difficult to repair pipes and fittings when there is a breakage.

The Ministry of Labour, Local Government and Rural Development, however, informs residents that personnel from the Mahogany Heights Water Board and the Department of Rural Development are in the process of rectifying the situation.

It is expected that water will be restored by noon tomorrow, April 16^th.
