No water in some areas of San Ignacio & Santa Elena

Posted: Friday, April 19, 2019. 10:45 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Our newsroom has received reports that there is no water in some areas of San Ignacio and Santa Elena in Cayo.

According to a statement from Belize Water Services (BWS), there will be a water interruption in the Simpson and Oscar Sabido Areas of San Ignacio from 9 am to 12 noon. While BWS did not issue an alert for Santa Elena Town, residents of Bradley’s Bank area are also without water.

“We were not expecting this from BWS. We need water to prepare our Easter meals and fill our pools for our kids,” a resident from the area told BBN.

The resident also added that it is difficult right now to purchase water as it is a holiday in Belize and all stores are closed in town.
