Guydis Canoes takes Easter Monday canoe race in Sittee River

By BBN Staff: Team Guydis Canoes took first place in the annual Easter Monday Canoe Race, hosted by The Belize canoe Association and the Sittee River Village Council in Sittee River.

The race featured a total of seven teams racing in the Male, Mixed and Masters Categories, along with one all-Female team.

Guydis Canoes bested the six other teams in the race, with a total completion time of 1:21:21, while team Tipico Salvadorena took second place with a completion time of 1:23:29. Both teams were from the Male category. Team Tech Monkeys, a team from the Mixed category, took third place with a time of 1:25:00.

Other participating teams included Western Invaydaz, Print Belize, Sea Sports Belize, and Koop Sheet Metal. Sponsoring the race was Sittee River Marina, The Curve  Bar, The Sittee River Village Council, and Ramirez Hardware.
